Overview
Hunza and Nagar are the places with extra ordinary beautiful valleys and peaks and trekking in this region is a lifetime experience. We have designed an exclusive program with a visit to Rush Lake, one of the highest lakes in the region and climb Rush Peak at 5098m. Our next leg of the travel is to trek to Rakaposhi base camp, which is another memorable and easy grade hiking.
Apart from trekking, the tour has a sightseeing trip of Hunza Valley, travelling as far as Khunjerab Pass, at the border between Pakistan & China and on return, visit Kaghan Valley with a side trip to the legendary lake, Saif-ul-Muluk.

Arrival Islamabad + City Sightseeing
Welcome in Pakistan at Islamabad Airport and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon, we will make a city sightseeing tour, which includes a visit to Shah Faisal Mosque, Lok Virsa Museum, Saidpur Village and driving through the main commercial area of Islamabad, called as Blue Area. In the evening, we would drive uphill to enjoy beautiful scenery of Islamabad. Islamabad is located at the foothills of Himalayas, while the green mountain range is called as Margalla Hills.
Islamabad - Chilas
After an early breakfast, we will check out from hotel and driving of newly constructed Hazara Expressway and Karakoram Highway ( the Silk Route ), we reach Besham, located on the right bank of mighty River Indus.From Besham, we start driving along the River Indus meandering through the lofty Himalayan and Hindu Kush mountain ranges. We make a photo stop at Shatial rocks with ancient graffiti's on it. After a long day aboard, we arrive at Chilas and transfer to hotel for overnight.
Chilas – Atabad Lake – Passu
After breakfast, we start driving towards Hunza and make photo stop at Nanga Parbat viewpoint, offering breathtaking view of the massive peak. The next stop will be at the unique point where three mountain ranges, Karakoram, Himalayas and Hindu Kush are visible, near the confluence of Indus and Gilgit rivers.We resume driving and bypass the Gilgit Town and continue driving on KKH. En route, we cross several villages and make a photo stop at Rakaposhi view point. Driving past Karimabad, we reach at Atabad Lake, which has been recently formed due to a huge landslide on River Hunza. After making photos at Atabad Lake, we cross the village ofGulmit and finally reach Passu, a tiny village at the base of Passu Peak. On arrival, we transfer to hotel for night stay.
Passu - Excursion Khunjerab Pass – Karimabad ( Hunza Valley )
Today we will make an excursion to the Sino-Pak border at Khunjerab, crossing the town of Sost. Sost is border post for immigration formalities for China bound tourists as well as dry port. Our further drive would be through Khunjerab National Park while we may get
chance to watch Ibex or Urial en route. We will see several Marmots and Yaks in their natural habitat. We reach Khunjerab at 4734 meters, above sea level and considered as the highest trade route in the world. Surrounded by snow clad peaks all around, we enjoy meeting with friendly Chinese border forces and after some photography, we start driving back.We continue our drive to Karimabad, the capital town of Hunza valley and transfer to hotel on arrival.
Karimabad – Sightseeing
Ultar, Hunza Dome, Bublimating, Spantik and Diran are famous peaks surrounds us at Karimabad, while Rakaposhi at 7788m dominates the whole panorama. At Karimabad, we visit Baltit Fort Museum and local bazaar. Altit Fort in nearby village is another attraction to visit. Evening is free to explore local bazaar and meeting with people or rest.
Karimabad – Nagar – Hopar – Biricho Kor – 3,300 m
After breakfast, we will drive to Nagar to start trekking and crossing Hopar & Barbu glaciers, we reach at Biricho Kor ( a walk of of 4 and half to 5 hrs. Dinner and stay in tents.
Biricho Kor – Chidin Harai – 4,400 m
After breakfast, we will start trekking and reach our camp at Chidin Harai in 5 to 6 hrs.
Chidin Harai – Rush Lake – 4,694 m
After breakfast, we will start trekking to Rush Lake at 4694m which is supposedly the highest lake in northern mountains region. It’s a half day hike and rest of the day is for rest and to help acclimatize for next adventure.
Rush Lake – Climb Rush Peak 5098 m – Hamdar
After breakfast, we will start trekking to climb Rush Peak at 5098 m. For return track, we will descent to Phai Pheri ( 3,450m ) and further to Hamdar ( 3,300m ) after crossing Barpu Glacier, where we camp for dinner & night stay.
Hamdar – Hoper – KKH – Minapin
After breakfast, we walk down to Hopar and start driving to KKH and further ro Minapin, a lovely village at the start of track to Rakaposhi base camp. We enjoy the evening at comfortable hotel and its garden.
Minapin – Hapakun – Tagafari
We start the next leg of the program and start trekking for Rakaposhi base camp. After breakfast, our team leave from hotel. Our luggage is mostly carried by donkeys and we reach at Hapakun, a nearby camp stage.From Hapakun, the walk is a little tough than previous portion, however after climbing a forested green slope, we reach atop moraine and get the view of sweeping MinapinGlacier. After walking a little ahead, we enter through a wooden barrier ( usually used for grazing domestic animals ) and reach at the small green ablation valley of Tagafari, which is a summer shepherd's place. Dinner and night stay in tents at our camp.
Tagafari – Optional Excursion Kacheili
Day free to enjoy the mountain beauty around OR we can visit Kacheili campsite across the glacier. A tricky path will take us to the site of Kacheili and we return before sunset to cross the glacier.
Tagafari – Minapin
We pack up and start walking down to Minapin and transfer to hotel on arrival.
Minapin – Babusar Pass – Naran
After an early breakfast, we will drive back towards Chilas and further to Babusar Pass at 4150m to enter in Kaghan Valley. We drive to Naran and transfer to hotel for night stay.
Naran – Excursion Lake Saif-ul-Muluk
Naran – Islamabad
We make an early morning excursion to Lake Saif-ul-Muluk by local 4x4 wheel drive jeeps. The legendary lake at 3200meters is famed for an interesting story of a Fairy, Prince and demon. In the noon, we drive back to Islamabad and transfer to hotel on5arrival.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
